Does anyone know the rules for driving on the continent, specifically Beligium and Italy as a T1 daiabetic.

I've informed my insurer and the DVLA and know the UK rules, but just wanted to check if it's different over there?

I would have assumed that there is no change in that I have a UK driving license, which is valid in Europe, but want to make sure

Thanks all

Dave

Hi. I've driven all over eastern and western Europe with T1 and never given it a second thought. I've never checked for any different rules or legals tho.

Thanks Glen,

I did a bit of research last night and it wasn't easy to find anything that spelt it out categorically. This was quite useful
http://iddt.org/about/living-with-diabetes/driving and seems to imply that there has been a recent harmonisation and that's what the DVLA is currently working on.

That and the DVLA stating that you can drive on the continent with a UK license suggests that there are no specific rules, but if someone can find anything different, I'd be happy to know.
