Sorry but you have to inform the DVLA if you take medication that can induce a diabetic hypo... So Gliz's are included in this because they stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin, and if the diabetic using them levels become low, they like an insulin user can end up in a serious medical emergency if they fail to treat said slow blood glucose..
As to your insurance company, you do need to tell them as well...
It won't make any difference to your insurance policy, but to with hold the information you can bet your bottom dollar, that if you have an accident, they find out you'll diabetic they will hold it against you..
