Hi, the first thing I think many people will suggest is book an appointment with your GP as a matter of urgency.

When you say your blood sugar reads 14 is this a fasting bg? How long have you been diagnosed T2?

Re your eyes your doctor will make the necessary referral but I suggest finding your nearest specsavers (they are just who I use and I know they have the necessary equipment) and ask for an eye test and tell them you are diabetic. They will be able to do an immediate check of your eyes and let you know if there is a problem and refer you onto the hospital. Your eyes could be reacting to high blood sugars though and it not be anything that needs action other than sorting out your blood sugar levels. I had diabetes retinopathy 12 years ago (now reg blind) and I go to specsavers if I have any concerns as I will get an answer immediately but you should also go to hospital appointment if one is made for you.

Saisevak - I can appreciate you're not happy with your situation and I understand why. How long have your bloods been running this high? I know some folks have real issues in this hot weather. Do you take any other meds, or are you suffering with anything else, like an infection at the moment?

You really need to be getting yourself close to your health care team, as running at +/-14 for any period isn't going to do you any favours. Do you have any means of testing for ketone (blood testing strips or urine dip sticks)?

If you take any sort of turn for the worrrying, then please do call your emergency services for advice.
