Drugs,Booze and fags

Drug abuse cost the NHS, £16.4 billion, Booze cost NHS £2.7 billion, Fags cost the NHS £1.5 billion,( But the goverment reaps in £9.3 billion from fags), and us,we cost the NHS, a whopping £3.5billion, but we have not chose our condition, the 3 above are all self inflicted, and yet they get more help then we do, by our self monitoring we could and would save even more money, and surely the research they would get from us would be benificial to the NHS and future diabetics, I for one, that without these sites would not be manageing as well as I am ....... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ....trand
 
I couldnt agree more,,,

if the government set up its own manufacturing of test meters and test strips (non profit) then it wouldn't lose out so much cash to profit making organisations, and self testing could be given to people with out so much worry of cost,,,, surly that would save the government even more money,,,,,, or am I just being silly ????

Totally agree, but unless both leaders and half the cabinet suddenly develop Db can't see it happening. Ooops that makes it sound like our government are a bunch of drug taking, boozy smokers doesn't it. :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Aren't they? None of them will admit to smoking cannabis while in uni, or if they did they didn't inhale!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
