Dry mouth

Extreme thirst/dry mouth was one of the symptoms that led to my diagnosis of T1 but even now, with my sugars in range at 4-5.5mmol during the night, I can still wake up during the night with a really dry mouth.

Could this be T1-related even though my BG is under control, or should I be speaking to the doctor to see if it might be something else?
 
Using some certain eye drops or hypertension meds can cause an extremely dry mouth .
Possibly check the leaflet in the packaging for any mention of this ?

Mum and me use the same ocular eye drops and it does cause us both
a extreme dry mouth we have both found .
This is listed on the side effects leaflet too .

You must mention this symptom to your GP when you next see him/her .
 
Good tip with heavy snorers for any dry lips .
Pre sleep rub some Vaseline on lips .
Cheap and easy solution ;):)
 
could be as simple as not keeping yourself hydrated enough.
I have also found that sometimes it can be a symptom of my blood sugar being on the very upper edge of going hypo ( 4.0 - 4.3)
 
Or cd be a sign that you're a bit high ... cd be either - or just having a cold and sleeping with your mouth open ..
 
Could be a lot of things including dehydration and dental problems.
Did you know it has a posh name, xerostomia?;)
 
I had problems with dry mouth in the morning until I started eating low carb (I'm prediabetic), and I read somewhere that it can be due to high blood sugars causing dehydration.
 
I wake up some nights and my mouth and tongue are stuck together,but its not thirst,and not high BS,The only meds I take are Metformin 1x 500 a day.
Im told as you get older you dont prouduce as much salava.
I get up and rince my mouth with water,that helps.
