DSN's in short supply in Hospital settings and those that do work there are being asked to perform general nursing duties, limiting the time available to see diabetic patients.
Is this the start of the health reforms where G.P.'s will be more involved with patient care? Has anyone been referred back to their Dr. from the Hospital Clinics? Are they going to be seen by a General Nurse or Health Care Assistants because these Nursing disciplines are going to be issued with guidelines drawn up by DSN's to help them manage diabetics according to this article.
I think the future care looks far from rosy. :thumbdown:
