Anonymous Question DVLA DR1?

Isn't that just the normal form that insulin dependent diabetics get sent every 3 years? Your doctor has to fill it in.

We were told during Q&A at DAFNE that if you have up to 1 severe hypo a year that's OK, any more is problematic (or any severe hypos while driving), but that the doctor should speak to you before talking to the DVLA. Severe hypo meaning you were unable to treat yourself.

We pointed out to the medics that this rule certainly leads to severe hypos being under reported. But it's a tough situation. We probably should not be allowed to drive if we pose a serious risk to other road users, right?

I've just renewed my licence for the second time.
You fill in the forms yourself and if they need more information then they will contact your doctor to find out more. If there's no changes to your health and everything is fine then they send you a new licence through the post.
Really simple and easy, it's just a case of ticking the boxes really :)
Just make sure you send it off in time, they send you the letter three months before yours will expire.
