Hi Everyone,
I sympathies with all here with diabetes, and have read many stories of the problems people have…
A hospital test showed I was 3.9 Blood sugar at one point during one nights sleep. And so, because I am a risk of having a hypo whilst driving in my sleep! My license was taken from me. The DVLA says it takes up 6 weeks to re-process a license application for medical reasons. Don’t believe that; every time a doctor or consultant is contacted for a report or letter the clock gets reset; yes 6+6+6 (get the idea). Anyway, I decided to get a second opinion and had the Blood sugar implant tested. Before the test had started I was told “These should be used as a guide” and “are up to 25% inaccurate”. The test showed it was 1.7 points too low! The consultant has apologized. But even though I can prove I was Ok, I still have to go though the DVLA re-application regardless, No short cuts for hospital/doctor mistakes! (6+6+…)
