I've had T2 diabetes since 2000, and always been able to control it reasonably well, until last year when the BG readings began to rise.
This year my average readings were between 8 and 14, despite my doc increasing my meds a couple of times, and as I haven't been able to see the diabetic dietician, last week I decided to follow the forums low carb advice instead of general diabetic advice of having carbs with every meal .
After a couple of days my fasting bloods yesterday were 8.1 and today 6.2, a great improvement . I have a long way to go ,but it was fantastic to realise I could control things a little bit . It appears my triggers are bread, potatoes and breakfast cereal with milk .
Lots of learning and experimenting to do ,but I just wanted to say thank you .
