I work at lunchtimes and need to leave the house between 11 and 11.30. I get back at 1.00-1.30 so need to have something to eat before I go out. At the moment I tend to have berries and cream/yoghurt as that is easy and quick and I know it will keep my hunger off till I get home. I also still have this pre diagnosis fear that I need to eat in case I get hungry whilst I am out.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what I could eat? I might be brave and try just having cheese or nuts and see if that is enough!

A few nuts? A Babybel? A cup of tea?

If you had nothing, and got home peckish, what would happen?

in pre diagnosis days I would have been shaking and unable to concentrate so I used to eat just in case. Since diagnosis and low carb this has happened a couple of times but I still eat something just in case. When I am working there are occasions when I could eat cheese, nuts or something similar so next week (half term this week) I will try not eating beforehand and see.

The reason I suggested Babybel was its pocket-sized portion, and it's ready packaged red skin.

Now my eating patterns are largely settled, I, generally, feel less hungry. If I over-carb, I get hungry; which is all part of my current experimentation.

What time do you eat breakfast? If you could manage to make this a little later there would be less of a gap and you wouldn't need that snack.

I have my breakfast at about 7am then take the boys to school. I get home about 8.30 so I could see if I could last that long maybe having a piece of cheese at 7 to lessen the dawn phenomenon. Also the boys have started walking to school so on these days I could eat about 8.
I need to do a bit of experimenting I think! Also eating less carbs I don't get hungry so often and I need to get my head round that.

Ive just discovered fridge raiders chicken bites. Only 2-3g of carb per pack. I always thought they'd be higher. They're also half price in Sainsburys right now.
