Early morning results

Hi. I’m trying to get my HbA1c levels down so that I can get a new hip. I’ve been taking Gliclazide for 6 weeks and all my home tests are within or better than the recommend except the before breakfast one. It goes up from the bedtime result even though I’ve not eaten anything between the two tests. Anyone got any ideas as to why?
