Hi there.
I have been a type one diabetic for about 12 years now. (i'm 23 years old). And i have had tight control since day one.
Ma HBA1C has never been over 6.0% in my life. Of course i do have short spikes on some days,we all do. But i test about 10 times a day and i invest a lot of time in keeping my blood glucose levels really good.
Recently i stopped using "levimir" and switched to "tresiba". A new basal insulin. Which seems to be making my levels even better. I haven't measured anything above 9.0 in 5 days.
However, recently it seemed to me that maybe twice a day or so, i feel a quick sharp pain in one of my toes. Like a quick small needle stab. It goes away fast. Together with a very slight tinkling feeling, mostly when i'm sitting for a while.
It's rare and insignificant enough that if i wasn't as paranoid as i am i probably wouldn't have noticed.
So i started googling and diagnosed myself with a possibility of very early neuropathy. Or i'm just paranoid...
I don't ever have any cramps. The feeling in my toes is normal, i even tried touching my toes with very light things, i can feel it.
I can stand on my toes long, don't feel tired. And my feet don't seem to be going numb.
I just sometimes feel a very fast sharp pain in some of my toes and some slight tinkling when sitting for a while.
It's not constant, it comes and goes away.
I allready had slight problems with my kidneys, slightly elevated protein levels. But solved that entirely by taking tritace for 2-3 years. Later i concluded that might have been because of my puberty and extreme physical activity at the time. Not because of my diabetes. And my protein levels are now perfectly normal. It has left me quiet paranoid however.
So i really don't know should i worry about the future of my nerves or not.
Thanks.
