I came across an advert for www.eatwater.co.uk in one of todays papers.

Has anyone heard of or tried the product. It does seem to good to be true from our point of view.

Never heard of this and I thought that i knew a fair bit about noodles having lived in Sarawak when I was younger ,Much younger !

I had a browse and found http://www.konjacfoods.com/index.html interesting .

I've always been under the assumption that if it looks too good to be true then it is.

I miss pasta, rice and noodles so much but I wont part with my money unless convinced and that I'm not. I'll keep checking back on this thread in the hopes that the products get good reviews.

Aren't you supposed to deduct fibres from carb content? 0,9 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fibres :eh:

It's packaged for the uk so the fibre is already deducted

E.g. pacakaging in uk will read

carbs 0.9
of which sugars 0.6
fibre 3g

so fibre is already deducted

if the fibre is still included in the carb count it would read
Carbs 4.5g
of which sugars 0.6g
of which fibre 3g

Then you would need to deduct the fibre from total carbs

remember packaging from the uk has fibre already deducted from the carbs so the figure you see for carbs is net carbs - The U S doesn't so you have to deduct to get the net carbs - confusing ain't it! :?

These are not actually new as they are, in fact, Shirataki noodles.

Have you tried Shirataki noodles before? I imagine they will be pretty tasteless and just take on the flavour of what you serve them with?

I've ordered a trial packet. I just hope they fool me enough.

If they are shirataki noodles, then there was a long thread on here about them - I think it was called "zero noodles"
The overall response seemed to be "this is good, because they have zero everything, carbs nutrition etc" with the only downside being "they also taste of nothing" At which stage I must admit I thought "well, if they taste of nothing, and have nothing in them, why bother?" I suppose they would at least bulk food out.

I drink my water - usually enthused with tea & with milk added.

Seems rather expensive as well for something that is 97% water . . . . . . .

I tried these and although as you say they dont really taste, I really liked them. I made carbonara sauce and served it over them, the texture was like al dente pasta.

I think it was the fact that i felt like i was eating pasta that made the different. And bonus!! no spike in BS at all....I will be ordering more once i have gotten through my trial packs even though they are on the expensive side.

I've eaten them many times. The main reason for eating them is a texture replacement. For example, cut up the noodles into little bits and cover with cream, sweetener and arrowroot and heat until thick. Makes a fantastic rice pudding.
