Eating and insulin

Hello all.

Can anyone advise me if I can take my insulin ( NovaMix 30) if I have not eaten much other than oats this morning, no lunch and quick oats at about 3pm and half an orange at 6 this evening. Dont have an appetite so I'm not sure what I should do.
 
Your team should've told you what to do in these kind of circumstances, am I right in thinking that NovaMix 30 is a mixed insulin? if so then it has a basal in it so I wouldn't advise missing that out or you'll more than likely end up with high levels, best advice would be either call 111 and ask or take it and keep a close eye on levels xx
 

Wenz - Have you not eating just because you don't feel like it, or because you're feeling off? What is your blood sugar at the moment, and what is it usually at this time of day?
 
Hi. If you are not eating much currently then you may need to reduce your insulin shots until your appetite returns. Use your meter to guide you and talk with the DN if needed.
