Hi everyone hope your well. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted , and so glad I can access the forum on my phone.
I’m Diane and I’ve been Ti for 44 years. I can generally eat healthy and bolus with Omnipod pump almost correctly, oddtime slightly high.
At night I always have a wee desert after dinner like a mini magnum, then supper I have anything like salted popcorn, then maybe 3 squares of chocolate at 9pm.
I find since having the freedom of going on the pump, just bolus for it I hear myself say, things gradually in the past year have got a bit out of hand
At night I’m eating my supper later, and a bit sweeter foods too, I seem to back for more chocolate, just one bit then not bolus . You can imagine the results . Either high in morning or if the food has been not healthy sometimes hypo during night.
I feel now a constant guilt when I eat the sweet stuff, I’m definitely not feeling good about these habits. How much is too much!
I don’t know whether I’m overthinking but I feel constant guilt, then feel sick as I’ve over done it.
I tried to tell the diabetic nurse about this, and she was nice about how I made carrot cake, and because it was there I had a big slice every day till it was gone. She said don’t worry about it, just have it.
Does anyone else feel like this? I wish could get into better habits at night as I feel this would help my HBA1C come down a bit . Mild terms I think it’s went from 9.2 to8.5.
If anyone can lead me to support in better habits at night,or can help me be more accountable about my last eating time at night which I’d love to be 8/830 latest maybe we could help each other.
Thanks for listening
