Hi, I am averaging 120g of carbs a day so not low low, but a huge drop from what I used to eat before diagnosis a month ago. Any way what can I eat in an Indian Restaurant? We are going out at work and all I can see is carbs, rice, naan, beer, (Cobra is the only beer I like, I have maybe 10 bottles a year and now I won’t be able to have one) Any help for the lower carb options in a restaurant please.

Most curries or tandoori stuff is ok, replace naan and rice with vegetable bhajiis just not potatoes. Save your daily ration of carbs for the essential Cobra(s).

I’ve explored Indian food. Essentially the safest thing is to watch your co-workers through the window ☹️

Real curry cooked properly is meat, ghee, some veg and spices.
Have a friend who is Indian and his wife's curries are to die for.

The stuff from a curry house. Er.... No.

We have one trusted takeaway so what I usually have is chicken or lamb tikka (dry meat cooked in tandoor) and cauliflower bhajee without a spike. No rice no bread and pref no beer (aka liquid bread) is best. Of course its up to you.

They vary so much, it’s hard to recommend apart from the tandoori or tikka dishes. I used to have the saag paneer ( spinach and cheese) from our local, with no spike in bgs, but last time it tasted quite sweet and caused a huge spike. I don’t know if it was a new chef or just a blip but I’m frightened off that dish now.
