Hi

I thought I would ask about eating out. For a couple of reasons my wife and I go out for dinner once a week when our son is at a Thursday Night club. It is in St Andrews about 25 mins from where we live. The club goes for 90 mins and dinner seems like a good thing.
I've got curry and pizza fairly well sorted, grilled meat and side dishs and leave rice and bread alone for curry... and salad for Zizzi's. I thought we might try some where for a change....
Question about Nando's. Has anyone been and if they eat LCHF, what did they have?
Going to download their menu and have a look see.
Cheers

I was there last weekend, it was so good..............I am on slimming world at the moment so it was a treat and I wasn't really too concerned about what was going in my mouth.........

I had 4 chicken thighs, some spicy rice and peri peri seasoned chips, so no low carb to be seen.................manages the insulin dosing just fine though......

sorry I am banging on a bit about how good it was, but it really was.........

its mostly chicken burger and wraps and so on, but you can just get the chicken on its own like me......you can then choose from the sides like coleslaw, chips etc..........you should manage to find something that will not hit the BG too hard.........

ultimately though, go and enjoy yourself, and take a long walk afterwards.........

i just have the butterfly chicken with mango and lime sauce and rataouille. They do spicy nuts for starters but im too tight to pay £3.10 for them. And they do caesar salad and other salads and you can have chicken breast, i have water out of the dispenser as well so dont have their drinks.

I love nandos but my nearest one is 21/2hrs away

If you click on the link below it gives you the menu, if you click on the tiny I icon (next to the little heart icon) on each individual dish it will give you the nutritional breakdown, mmmmm really need spicy chicken now

Nandos LC is fab!

They do awesome chicken and advcardo salad and grilled Haloomi cheese (sorry about the spelling!)

Low carbing avoid the rice chips and bread so simples

I want a Nandos now, might have to call in on the way home from work........ I vote for the chicken (at whichever strength you want) and rataouille, tasty and quite low carb

Probably asked this before, but is all the chicken dishes hot? Not a big lover of food that burns the roof of your mouth off

No start off mild right the way up to burn your mouth off, and then you can add sauce at tge table too in a variety of strengths

Thanks for that lessci, must get to try Nando's then, the mild will do fine

I had lunch at Nandos yesterday had a Mediterranean salad with a grilled chicken breast medium hot the salad has feta cheese and olives in it really nice. I was naughty though and had some chips with it

Just back. I would say it was okay, portion size was small, went for medium chicken butterfly with tuso beans and glass of red. BG 60 mins later was 6.0, so good there. Added the hot sauce and it was fine.
Thanks for responses, good to share
