ecg.....why!!!!

Hi all
DN decided I needed an ECG as my BP still up (why don't they just give me some medication?) Afterwards she said hmmm, not tooooo bad! When I asked her what she meant she said "well if I was worried about it I would send for the GP now" Apparently he will peruse the results and get back to me if there's a problem. Meanwhile any decision on BP meds put off for another two weeks.

Anyone else had an ECG, is it normal as past of the newly diagnosed tests?

Cor, your quicker than me on the old trigger finger.....I got over excited and pressed save twice.. By the way, how do you get your piccy on the right and a quote on the bottom? Well, not your bottom but the bottom of the page!

Hi Chrissie,if you go to user control panel at top left hand of board.
click on profile.
Then ,on left hand side you will see options to edit avatar (the picture) or signature.
 
Me too, my hubbie is known as Piglet, no wonder he eats like a horse!!!!

Phew did it, only took 2 hour

if there was anything wrong with your ecg the doctor would have been called,sometimes the docs give you an ecg just to see if everything is ok.don't worry about as you would have heard from them very quickly
 
When my blood pressure was up my doc sent me for an ECG - think its standard practise - dont worry
 
What happens during an ECG? I apparently had one when I was ill but luckily wasn't awake at the time. Now my consultant has decided that I need one to check for some rare thing but i've put it off until i'm feeling better.
Would I have to be topless? In a T-shirt? Hope someone answers :cry:
 
Don't worry ShyGirl, it is a five minute procedure that is painless.
You will have to expose your chest but this will be done in privacy. Leads,( electrical sensor devices) will be attached to your body in strategic places to measure the electrical action of your heart. They are attached after some gel has been placed on the position they will be attached to. You are asked to lie still and not to talk. That is all it is.
