Hi everyone saw my doctor today said my sugars were good but my blood sugars were dropping bit low in afternoon
Usually around 3pm last few days thay have been about 3.7 to 4.0 edge of hypo so doctor told me to start doing half units wasn't sure what pen to give me i said some members on diabetes forum have been using an Novo Nordisk echo pen so got it supplied on prescription but my question is to members on these sort of pens is doctor told me to dial up 4 to 5 units for air shot every time before I inject but sounds like a lot of wasted insulin what do you guys think and what do you do? Please let me know thanks PS doctor never heard of this forum they have now lol.

Because its a half unit pen it takes 2 clicks to make a unit so doing 4 clicks is 2 units, hope this makes sense, but always check the numbers on the dial for safety's sake.......

Hi,

Yep that's about right for an air shot! DiaI up 2 whole units & prime the needle.
Repeat if necessary.... (Like after flight decompression? )

Your welcome..........I find it an easy to push plunger pen........some can be really stiff......
