Hi all,

I’m a 40 year old male , type 1 for 17 years.
My a1c is always between 40-45 and time in range is around 80-85% 3.9-10.
I have no complication yet based on doctors tests.

The last years I get softer erections which freak me out and cause me to think this is my first complication.

I do have a lot of stress but not more then the years before that. I have always done my best to keep my numbers in range but do have the common spikes.

The constant uncertainty that you do everything you can and that is still not enough and you can get all these health issues that affect your future is just horrible.

Hi and welcome
Are you on any other medication.
Some drugs like anti depressants can affect the bedroom department.

Hi
Your GP can easily prescribe sildenafil which is the name for viagra.
It may not be diabetes related as i have had things go wrong and the NHS blamed diabetes which has not been the case as my dad had similar problems and is not diabetic.
Apparently men don't like talking about such things but your GP will be fine with it.

I wish you well

Tony

diabetes in general makes around 3x more likely but your numbers and time in range look awesome your doing great :)

ed effects 20% approx non diabetic there are some meds which can assist which your gp could help with. i have non diabetic friend who uses a penis pump to help with theirs.

It is so difficult to identify what is diabetes related and what is not. But I always immediately stress about complications…

ment to put in my above post with 40+ year olds with that %. stressing wont be doing any favours lot easier said than done.
