Hi Tracey,

I was young when I was diagnosed and I know it was hard for my parents to get to grips with hypos, hypers, injections, correction doses and everythig else. They were offered a place on an NHS- run grouper parents of children with diabetes. I don't know the name and my mum's memory is not what is used to be - she can barely remember I have diabetes, never mind the name of the course.

Did anybody else on this forum have something like this when they were younger? Not sure if it was just a regional thing. This was pre-Internet! Internet might be a good, if not better, option thesedays.

Em :)

Hi Tracey,

On the site that I posted there were the following:

Birmingham..... T1 BERTIE ............CONTACT: Annmarie Field / Joy Hand.

Coventry ........ Coventry and Rugby Basal Bolus System for Type 1 ( CARBBS 4-1 )

The link that I was given stated that alsough they may all have different names the were all to follow the same Goals, Content etc.

Sorry there were no email addresses. Have you tried them?
