Effect of Leg wound on blood levels

Hi all,
Had a good week last week with lvls varying from 5.7 to 6.6 taken before breakfast each day. On last monday evening I took a short cut and collided with a 1 ft high brick wall, I got a wound on my left shin. Can such a wound effect blood lvls? On tuesday after this my lvl was 7.6 , wed 7.6, thu 7.6 fri 9.5 sat 8.5 sun 9.5 etc. Puzzled......
 
If you've picked up a wound and it's likely if you have high BG that you may pick up an infect which will certainly raise your BG, I've had a BG over 18 after picking up an infection in a very small wound. I'd say keep a check on your BG and check with your GP in case you need antibiotics. Also check if the area looks and feels hot as that is a sign of infection.
