Emergency Services and Hospital Staff

Fantastic to hear that they treated you well too. Bif believer in praise where it is due. Ambulance staff have always been wonderful in my limited experience too

My mum collapsed in the bathroom in november and stopped breathing and her heart stopped too, we live in a village and i really believe that the fast response saved her life. She's only 44.was in hospital for a while unconcious and had memory loss which caused a slight personality change and alot of anger, the staff were very patient with her and very caring in two hospitals so i know exactly what you mean. we should praise the good before we're very quick to tarnish them because of a few bad apples

Good positive post! It's always nice when someone recognises the hard work and dedication our emergency services and hospital staff but in when taking care of our needs.

Like you I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the paramedics and all the dedicated nurses and doctors at my local hospital.

From A&E to the wards I stayed on to the ICU where I was intubated, my care was 1st class and left me quite emotional at times, there is just no way to thank these people properly, when you owe someone your life it is a very humbling experience IMO

I had great treatment from the paramedics and firemen the other day too. They were all very kind and reassuring. They cut up all my clothes though.

The most terrifying part of it was, when on the ambulance, the paramedic was holding + looking at one of my hands, I thought he was looking at the cuts, then he picked up the other hand, and started tapping at it. The horror I felt when realising what he was doing, preparing to put a drip in, stab at my hand veins, and I was strapped to the spinal board and could not escape, was indescribable. Even writing about it makes me feel sick. Luckily he realised by my reaction it wasn't a good idea. And I overheard him telling the A&E staff about it so they didnt come at me with needles so that was good.

I didn't have to wait long at A&E to be seen, none of this 6 hour wait you hear about. They probably prioritise people strapped to spinal boards though.

It was all needless as it turns out, no broken bones or spine damage so could have just climbed out and walked home, but better safe than sorry!

It is good to hear some positive comments! Emergency Services are extremely hard working, and I dof my hat to them.
