I had dapa, it was a 3rd drug added to avoid insulin so in that regard I was happy to go on it
So... It is one of the few drugs I had for diabetes that I had side effects on. Back pain and some awful thrush. But only the one off thrush wise and a pill sorted
I did notice some weight loss and my bloods did improve a fair bit. However was only on for about 3 months as dietary change reversed most of my drugs
So all in all, as with all drugs, need to monitor the side effects and be informed as there are some potentially nasty ones with this one but this Vs insulin and the desire for controlled bloods in the covid days, I chose that
I’m on empaglaflozin, I haven’t had any side effects with these. I don’t really know if these tablets make any difference to my levels as I don’t eat normally.
I've been on dapaglaflozin for over 5 years (along with various other meds) I've never had a problem, but you do need to drink a lot to avoid thrush, (they work by holding excess glucose in your urine and you wee it out) Keeping low(er) carb helps as there is less glucose, but not Keto as there is a risk of DKA with no symptoms
