Type 2 Employment medical

Hi All.

I've recently been offered a job as a train station assistant and am required to attend a medical.
Does anybody know will me having diabetes have any effect on the outcome.
I take 1000mg metformin a day plus 50mg sertraline for depression.

Hi @dannym17 what exact job on the railway station are you going for? Is it a safety critical role, ie train dispatch? Or non safety critical, ie ticket office? Every train company will vary slightly on their requirements for different positions, but I used to work for South West Trains so could give you an idea.

Edit: I’m also gonna base my answer on type 2 diabetes. Please correct me if that’s not correct in your case.
