OK, well I won't argue with an expert, but MODY usually occurs in children and can cause them to be overweight, just like adult T2s. LADA's are usually adults who are slim and are often misdiagnosed as T2 to start with when in fact they have slow onset T1. I just think you fit the 2nd group more than the first. It was an endochronologist who suggested MODY as family history and I am, always was, slim.

Whatever the diagnosis I do hope you can find someone to see you sooner rather than later. How are your BG's now?
OK. It's not just children, but it is usually diagnosed before aged 25, that's why it's Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young. I know of one little girl who was diagnosed with it aged 2, that's where my misinformation arose from. Sorry. Like I said, I'm no expert, but these guys think they areAw Zand -- shame but now I have to disagree with you. As the name suggests, MODY (Mature Onset.....) doesn't usually occur in children. I was diagnosed with it in my slim late 40s -- apart from the smoking my profile is similar to the OP (including family history of T1). I agreed with you re LADA simply because I wouldn't expect MODY numbers to surge quite so high and stay there, whereas that does seem a common LADA experience. So we still agree really.
Have you gone to emerg!? Have you been seen by a diabetic specialist? I found your post alarming and I hope that you are gaining access to support from people with some expertise. So much of one's access depends upon being an advocate for oneself and/or calling in one's family and friends to advocate with/for you.I asked to be referred because my BS have gone haywire and nothing is working. I am not overweight and do moderate exercise daily - housework, walking with set goal of 7000 steps a day - sometimes plus, sometimes not. Metformin upped to double last Dec - now on 2000g per day.
My high BS were around 10 - 12 - when I got back from holiday with severe jet lag - they made all time high of 23! Guess not good time to check. But every day fasting check each morning at around 17! Now I'm trying no carbing as of yesterday - but so hungry! My BMI is 21 btw - retired Lecturer and weight 9.5 stone.
Now I feel I am showing signs of neuropathy - legs and feet throbbing, burning. Pain in lower back - hips - thighs area and some loss of feeling - all exacerbated by walking.
