Hi Folks I was diagnosed T2 diabetes in Oct 2014, and I am overweight and i have suffered from erection problems for some years which Viagra used to control to a certain extent, talking to my GP about this problem he explained that one of the problems with T2 is that the nerves in the penis that control the flow of blood become damaged and do not work properly.
My question is, if by diet control and weight loss you manage to clear T2 from your body will this nerve repair it self allowing full erections once again. my GP was under the impression once the nerve is damaged it will never recover
 
I cannot really answer the question as I am female but I can say that after a year of very low carb and getting my A1c down to 37 the neuropathy in my foot has mostly gone away. I have gone from being unable to feel my toes or the ball of my foot to full sensation. The only way to know is to give it a try. The best of luck to you.
