Would appreciate some thoughts on how to address this. In the past 3 days my evening/dinner ratios have shot through the roof and I can't work out why. My breakfast and lunch ratios are the same, but in the evening it almost feels like no amount of NovoRapid can keep my levels down! Last night I had a meal (circ. 60g carbs) which I have regularly and for which 4 units always covers perfectly. Last night I took my usual 4 units, a 3 unit corrector, a 2 unit corrector and then another 2 unit corrector and only then was I back in the 5-6 mmol range!
I take my 10 units of daily Lantus at between 10pm and 11pm and usually have dinner at about 8pm, so my thoughts are that perhaps my Lantus is running out ... but I've been using Lantus since diagnosis almost a year ago and not had this problem before?
I flat-line during the night and when I'm not eating so I'm pretty sure my basal is at the right level.
Any ideas? Thanks
