Excessive tiredness

Can anyone tell me what the cause of my excessive tiredness is?

I am a male type 2 diabetic on 3 x 500mg of Metformin daily.

I have good blood glucose control with an HBA1c of 5.4, my cholesterol levels are as follows:

LDL at 2.34
HDL at 1.44
Triglycerides1.23
Total Cholesterol at 2.99

I exercise for about 50 minutes a day, burning on average 900 calories in 50 minutes whilst running/ fast walking for 4-5 mile.

For the last couple of days I have been urinating a bit more frequently than usual but with no pain or burning sensation and no trouble stoping and starting. With all of the aove in mind can anyone tell me why I am excessive tired as soon as I stop for the day.

This is strange, you are not the only one.

I am putting it down to the latest weather, There are lots of friends and family around that are not Diabetic that seem to have the same kind of tiredness.

Seems you have very good control. If I have any carbs above and beyond what I normally eat, I find I just zonk out really tired. Have a look at your diet and see if it needs tweaking.

There are several medical causes for excessive tiredness.
1. Anaemia
2. Underactive Thyroid
3. Vitamin D deficiency
4. Vitamin B12 deficiency
5. High blood sugar levels

If you have been on Metformin for many years, you may have Vitamin B12 deficiency as it can deplete it.

I too have been exhausted over the past few days - no idea why. The tiredness is almost making me feel ill - that sot of icky feeling. Like you it's when I've got home from work, made tea and sat down. It's a tiredness that's not normal - it just completely wipes me out.

I have same feeling right now - dreadful tiredness, bit nauseous and headachey. I actually came on to look up vitamin b12 and zinc deficiency as l've developed strange salty taste in my mouth and it seems it coukd be caused by deficiency in the above, one of the causes can be metformin over a period of time, but this is not a nice feeling and I'm thinking of asking GP for tests.

I thought it was just me being really tired I can sleep in the afternoon for 3-4 hours. And because of medication sleep all night as well. Sugars are fine. Could Be the weather I suppose

Strange, I've been feeling the same - something in the water!!!
