Hi everyone,

I am a little confused and need some sound advice. My consultant put me on Byetta Exenitide over 1and half year ago, Whilst on the Byetta i lost 2 and half stone but i had many side affects which became impossible to live with.So i took it on myself to stop injecting, then my craving and hunger pangs kicked in and i started eating more than normal and even though i haven't weighed myself i feel i have put on weight. So i re started to inject myself and yet again those horrible side affects started again. I told my consultant that i have stopped injecting myself and my mind is made up that i will not return to the injections. He has no objection but my question to anyone is how do i control my hunger pangs? i am eating uncontrollably should i go back on the injections and hopefully get another 3 months out of it until i give up again? I am so confused?!?
My blood sugar is very controlled and hopefully in the future my consultant has put my name on the list to have a 'Sleeve gastrectomy' any advise or knowledge from people who have actually had this done? I have read the Bospa website but i was hoping for someone to interact and explain what experience they have been through and how it is all going now.

Hopefully hear from you soon - take care

Zahida

Hi Zahida,

I cannot answer your queries as I am not a Byetta user.

You might find some answers on the Diabetes Medication and Drugs Board as there is a section on Byetta there.

Hope you get some help.

Hi

I can't give you information about the medication side of thing but there is another forum for people who have had or who is plannning/thinking about bariatric surgery. You will have to scroll down the page has the sleeve is a bit down the page.

The address is ukgastricband.co.uk

I hope that this will help
