Hi
I am new to the low carb diet, but in two weeks my average BG has dropped from 11.1 to 7.1. I take Sitagliptin and metformin, am 69, run or walk up to 10k a day. How should I modify the low carb diet 120-150g per day with that level of exercise?

First things first congratulations on that massive improvement. You must be so pleased:)

Personally, with that level of exercise and BS drop I would continue as you are for a couple of weeks and see where it stabilises. I have been on LCHF for 7 weeks and discovered that my carb intolerance is pretty bad, so I aim for just 20g per day and lots of exercise like you. The result is a complete resolution of all my metabolic markers.

Clearly, with your level of self discipline, hence the exercise, I expect to hear about continued significant improvement.

Best wishes :)

Don't think you need to modify it at all to take account of the exercise. I very low carb and still manage walking and swimming most days. I try to eat as few carbs as possible but haven't experienced any problems with exercise. Sounds like low carb has had a great effect of your blood sugars so carry on maybe even try fewer carbs?
In the first few months after diagnosis I did hardly any exercise but still achieved much better sugar controls so I think its the diet and not the exercise which helped me.
Keep up the great work
Regards
Mark
