Exercise and lows

Hi there
I’ve recently started going back to the gym and I’m really struggling with the balance of my levels and my food intake. I want to get a bit more in shape but it feels like any calories I’m burning I’m just eating to account for lows.

Does anyone have advice for the best things to take going low for exercise, or ways to avoid this without just being higher all the time?

I do about 45 mins - 1 hour in the gym, and then about a 20-30 minute swim after

i used lift tablets when went swimming. those at 15 cals with 3.7g fast carbs in each tablet.
