Exercise & arthritis

I do not have diabetes
I need to loose at least 5/6 stone eat quite healthy lots of chicken & salad don't eat much carbs except for white bread 2 slices per day (don't like brown bread) I really need to try & exercise but find it very hard as I have arthritis in my back,hip & knee. I can do a bit of walking on a good day & have stairs in my house but apart from that I find it's hard to do anything else does anyone have any tips to try & increase my exercise I can walk for around 20 mins but at a slow pace & use a walking stick thanks

Have you seen the step up to Santa thread ...
The girls on there may have some ideas ...
Go at your own pace though ...it is about 30 mins of activity 5 times a week ...

IMO, you exercise for health, you eat for your weight.
chances are there are some carbs you aren't seeing in your diet. a free food counter like http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ will help, you may need to google to check the carbs, because everyone just puts in what they want to the data base

what I did was cut all grain, grain product, potato and sugary stuff...I ate everything else and added healthy fats to make up for the lost carbs

There's a fitness gadget called a bodyblade.

It can be used sitting or standing, and is recommended by physiotherapists. In fact, I think it was created by a physiotherapist.

Mr B had a frozen shoulder and we were advised to get one after the chiro had sorted his shoulder out. Amazing thing. I would heartily recommend it.

The cheapest place we found it (a while back) was QVC :wideyed:
 
There are youtube videos on it (I checked it out thoroughly, cos it looked a bit gimmicky, but it tuned out to be kosher)
