Hi I have just had early morning workout and noticed my sugar levels higher then if I had not bothered .i am type 2 just recently diagnosed this result has surprised me seeing as I had not eaten since the evening before ,does this mean exercise is not that beneficial for diabetes ?

Exercise is great for diabetics but there are potentially 2 issues here.

Dawn phenomenon raising your blood glucose at the start of the day and a stress response to exertion (depending on the type of workout).

Both are similar and involve your liver pumping out glucose to help get you going in the morning or to help the body recover etc.

Type Dawn Phenomenon or Liver Dump in the search bar top right to find many threads on the subject.

Exercise IS always a good thing... I always find that any exertion/exercise causes my BG levels to drop.
Walking is a great exercise. Exercise does not have to be gruelling, in fact if it is, we are less likely to continue with it.
Enjoy it, forget about things. Take some jelly babies along for company in case you drop below a safe level. ALWAYS take your meter and some sweets along especially if you exercise alone!
