I find I get a blood sugar spike as a result of exercise, swimming for example. This is extra frustrating: doing sport which is supposed to be good for you, not breaking the rules, then rewarded with a very high bs reading.
I'd like to know if others with diabetes find that this happens to them .... And what I can do.
 
hi, im type 2 so not sure about insulin and stuff but i know exercise can indeed cause bgs to rise, many threads about it on this forum, i believe anorobic exercise makes them rise where as arobic is supposed to make them fall but i get a rise regardless, im sure someone with type 1 will have a good idea of how to deal with it

Thank you for your help, Andy. Because of what you said, I can understand the difference between lengths of the pool and winter clearing of the garden. Gardening never fails to reduce my blood sugar levels which is cool because I like it. I love swimming but I hadn't really understood why it would often have the undesirable effect of high readings. Now I do and I can try to sort it. Thanks again. :)
