Exhausted

This is far more rant than looking for advice. Finding the whole diabetes management thing exhausting just now. I am permanently chasing highs and causing hypos. Yesterday between midnight and 5pm I had done 18 blood tests!! Need to take a step back and go back to basics, but just getting so tired by it all I am finding it difficult to think straight. I've at least done step 1 and am letting my husband help out a bit.

Summary: pregnancy+diabetes=exhausting + very stressful

(trying not to think about management when there is a new born involved!!)

Do make use of your DSN if it's getting to you. A clear head can often see the answer.

Don't worry too much about diabetes management with a newborn. Things go back to normal insulin needs-wise and often you need less insulin than pre-pregnancy. There are tips here when you get to that stage, but don't worry for now.

Keep going. It sounds like you're really working hard at keeping good control. That's brilliant

Thanks for your kind words. I am 31 weeks. Spoke with my DSN, the thing is I do know what to do, but it was nice to hear her tell me that all the same. Just need to keep going!
