Hi there. I have had a detched retina in the past. Previous to my diabetes diagnosis. I was sent to a local hospital where there was an eye casualty dept. Considering that most ppl would consider eye sight to be a major priority, and that your GP was as much use as a nun on a motorbike, I would feel justified in going to a local EYE CASUALTY. Ring your local big hospital for your area. They are excellent, although only operate 9-5 in most areas. Or, find out who the local opthalmologist is, who offers diabetics their yearly screening. This is different from your ordinary local optician. GOOD LUCK. xx remember, it is your SIGHT, not theirs. would your GP be happy with his own diagnosis, for his OWN eyes, if the situation was reversed? good luck xx keep us up to date. xx
