Hi everyone
This week (Thursday) I have go to have a fluroscein done. I have had moderate retinopathy for some years (am type 1, 36 years). Anyway, last March (08) i noticed some central blurring left eye. Saw the consultant in eye dept. I had some fluid there. Been keeping an eye (sorry!) on it. Last check up he said he wants me to have a dye test to have a better look at the back of my eyes. He said I may need laser treatment, right eye (never had this before). Also I may need a lucentis injection for the fluid in left eye. I am trying my best to kep my blood sugars level but not always doing such a great job at that unfortuantely. I am on the DAFNE regime but think I need to be much stricter with my food choices.
I was not a well controlled diabetic when younger, but no point in going over all that now, I cannot turn back the clock. I am a little bit scared of having the fluroscein done and scared of having laser treatment. Anyone out there had laser treatment? What's it like? The area I am to have lasered is away from the macula and I was told there may just be a little peripheral (cant spell that) damage and I probably would not notice it in my vision though. I so want it all to be ok. XCAthy
