Had my second diabetic eye screening yesterday at the local hospital as I missed the screening sessions at our local practice. Very quick - 20mins for drops to work, and about 5mins for the tests. The very kind nurse/technician told me that next year I should phone up well before I was due for my next appointment, to tell them I'd like to be seen at our practice.
Because it was a lovely sunny day, I very foolishly decided to sit outside while waiting for my husband to return to collect me. The drops had made my eyes very blurry, and I know from previous experience that even though I have some excellent photosensitive glasses, (a) I'm rather sensitive to bright sunlight, and (b) my eyes wouldn't be able to adjust to the brightness for a while due to the drops... So I sat out there blind as bat and my eyes half shut thinking what a daft twit I was...
They didn't really get back to normal until today.
