I have been diagnosed with Type 2 for some time now, which is managed by Metformin. Recently I have been suffering with headaches and double vision which I have been told by my local Eye Hospital could be a result of my diabetes. The muscle in the left eye is not working correctly and not pulling the eye to the left, and now I need to wear an eye patch and have been told it can take 3-6 months to heal/correct itself.

Has anyone else experienced this??

I have, I saw an optometrist through my doctor who prescribed a prism that fitted on one lens of my spectacles, made a huge difference as until that point I had horrendous double vision that made it very difficult to handle viewing anything beyond a few feet from me. I now have one built into my specs, although the problem isn't as bad as it used to be

Hi, How well is your Type 2 managed by Metformin? - What's your latest HbA1C?

Hi, also had double vision issue for a week, trip to A and E, CT and MRI scan, then a follow up with eye specialist. Diagnosis a blocked blood vessel at rear of eye affecting muscle controlling eye most likley diabetes related. Not had a Hb1ac for over a year when it was 55. Told 3 - 6 months to hopefully get better. Wearing a patch which is bearable. Been told can drive while wearing patch.

Chimpy2002 - are you seeing any improvements yet
