My understanding is that the retinal scans we have taken are still analysed by human eye to detect any abnormalities. Two people may see different abnormalities in the same scan.
Background retinopathy is a small abnormality that has been observed.
I do not know if it can be reversed although you may find it is not detected in your next scan.
As it does not require treatment, it is not considered to be affecting your eyesight.
The important thing is to make sure it does not get worse. This requires no special treatment on top of maintaining your BG.
Background retinopathy has been detected in 2 out of my last 3 scans.
