Have any of you guys on the lchf, Newcastle plan noticed after getting your glucose levels back to normal that your vision has improved?
I'm currently experiencing symptoms of where my eyes are acquiring an intermittent signal boost improving visual acuity. I think I might book an appointment with my Optometrist when my next HBA1C is due to see if there are any subtle changes in that department too.
Really interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing similar.

Hi @photognut . When your blood sugar levels drop, whether through lchf or other means, it is very common to have changes in vision. Many go through a period of blurry vision, while their eyes adapt to new circumstances and then have improved vision later. An important piece of advice is not to buy new glasses, while your eyes are still adapting. With longer term low sugar levels, even retinal damage can improve and show reversal.
Keep up the good work.

Hi

I agree with S&J.

Following diagnosis I started lchf and as my levels came down I noticed my vision was improving.

Not just changing - it definitely improved.

For years I had been getting ever stronger prescriptions for both reading and distance glasses and within weeks I found I could both read and fly my model planes better with my naked eye than with my glasses.

I left it 12 months before going back to the optician who had a good look and a very thorough test and told me that my eyes were almost perfect, I'm a little short sighted in one and a little long sighted in the other and always have been.

They sold me new glasses anyway - don't they always - although to be fair to the guy he told me they might ease the strain but they wouldn't do anything dramatic.

And that's exactly what I found.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I'm genuinely shocked that the results and benefits are so quick, I'll definitely adopt your advice and wait 12 months before acquiring new lenses.

Tim, try telling the optician staff that you have grown an attachment to your current spectacles and would like to recycle them with new lenses..... their faces are a picture :D
