My blood sugars have been a little consistently high recently which i'm working on! But i have been feeling shakey at around 4.5 - 5.. I was wondering do you treat the hypo symptoms or just leave it? I know it will calm back down and i wont be feeling like this at these numbers soon but for now i'm a little confused, I have been treating it a little with small amounts of fast acting glucose, not as much as i normally would for a hypo, just mainly because i hate the panicky feeling and it's a natural reaction to want to treat it.. or do i simply just leave it and let it work itself out?

If it were me, I'd avoid trying to correct anything that wasn't an actual hypo. I know that feeling sucks, but you have to fight it and remind yourself that it's not real. Worst case, I'd break up a glucotab and eat 2g every 15 minutes or so until I felt better.

Keep focusing on reducing your highs and the false hypos should go away.

Personally I would avoid treating.
but just for devil's advocate purposes if one looks at meter accuracy the 4.5 registered on the meter could mean an actual BG of between 3.9 - 5.1.

I liked @TorqPenderloin 's idea of a reduced treatment quite a lot.

Thanks guys, I know riding it out makes alot more sense.. but when your in a confused hypo state of mind it's hard to know what your really doing at the time haha.. It'll pass i know. Basically, I've been Type One coming up to a year, think the honeymoon phase is dieing out and i need my Levemir upping in the morning, as i was finding my numbers were still fairly high after eating and they had been good readings for so long..I mean they have not been terribly high but high enough to cause these 'fake hypo's'... anyway i'm on the case.. and my readings are getting better! (it sounds silly but the false hypo's in a way have been a good sign! it means by numbers were getting where they should be!) Thanks again.

I sometimes have false hypos at 6 - 7mmol/l  My old carcass is rubbish at this diabetes game! :D

Just a false hypo at 7.2 , everything like like shattered glass, felt weird, take me 7 test strips to actually got some blood out, ! Weird very Weird. Calming in now doubt after some dark chocolate ( couple of squares )
