Hello Everyone,
Just thought I'd make a post about metformin as everyone on this forum has helped me so much and said to get back to them about my experiences.
I really couldn't cope with all the side effects of metformin. I felt exhausted, sick, dizzy, and electric as funny as that may sound! And had fizzy fingers ??!!
I went back to my Dr and asked to be put on slow acting metformin, as the side effects aren't as bad......
I have taken the giant 1 gram pill for two days now, and feel awful
just the same as before with the fast acting. I feel fine when I don't take any anti-diabetic drugs, and have no diabetic symptoms off the drugs.
I was given insulin before I fell pregnant and went hypo after taking 2 units before meals. I've been to see lots of different consultants, and don't seem to get the right treatment.
I am 1.5 type diabetic, 34 years old, slim, have GAD but no islets. I find that having a glass of red wine with meals is more effective (and pleasurable) than any other treatment. If I follow the diabetic diet, it sucks and is depressing but my Hba1c is 6.5. If I eat whatever I like, drink no red wine and no meds/insulin it's about 8.
Not sure what to do? I think that red wine fish may be the answer at the moment!
Xxx
