Fasting BG up on Metformin

It's early days after less than a week on 2x500 metformin daily. But my morning fasting BG's are up. Used to be high 6's low 7's now about 8. What's going on. I'm type 2. Diagnosed March. Previous HbA1c was 46 in June.

It's not uncommon.
MIne did the same.
I think your body is trying to get used to the changes the metformin makes.

Mine have come down again after I've lost weight though.
