Type 1.5 Fasting blood with COVID-19

Hi and welcome to the forums.

When you contract a virus, your immune system requires energy to fight it and this energy comes from glucose released by your liver. It is quite common to have higher background glucose levels when you're unwell, even with something as mundane as the common cold.

Are you aware of 'sick day rules' for insulin usage? Do you have a contact such as a Diabetes Nurse you can call?

I have to advise you - consult your doctor or diabetes nurse when changing insulin unless you are supremely confident about what you're doing.
