Hi,
Mine is a slightly different angle on the Dawn Phenomenon. Today I had a colonoscopy (dont try this at home folks) this required me to fast  from 7am wednesday till after the procedure, the only things I was allowed was black tea or coffee, water cordial , strained clear soups or oxo, till 7am this morning then nil by mouth. Last night I had a BS reading of 4.3 my next reading was done by the nurse at hospital at 9-30am and was 5.7, seeing all I had this morning pre 7am was a weak black coffee and half glass of water it seems high to me. Anybody got any ideas as why :?: :?: :?:
I'm T2 low carb diet controlled.
Its confession time now  after the procedure I was offered 2 slices of toast  and I could not resist. To make matters worse on the way out I stopped at the cafe for a coffee and bought a pack of egg and cress sandwiches and devoured them as well, my only defence was that I was starving. I'm hanging my head in shame  hoping I won't be ostracised by fellow low carbers.

Guilty Graham

Hi Eddie,
To be honest I never thought about the stress factor and with my BP 184/85 when checked by the nurse it all adds up even allowing for my W.C.S.About 6 weeks ago I had a Endoscopy and had some polyps removed (also had some other stuff done after which I felt piles better  ) the biopsies came back ok. Had some more removed today hopefully the outcome will be the same.
The actual procedure is not to bad, I had a sedative and to be honest I don't remember much about it I certainly did'nt feel any pain. The worst things must be baring your backside to all and sundry  and the stuff they give you to prepare for the procedure is evil

Thanks Mate
Graham

Ps only 9 carbs for tonights meal

It was'nt Picolax Sue I've had that previously. This ones aptly called Fleet it certainly made me fleet footed. I'm lucky in one respect I live in a Bungalow but then again I'm missing out on the exercise that running up and down stairs would give me.

Cheers
Graham

Ah that would be picolite then.developed by some sadist, you can't be more than 10 feet from toilet with that stuff.

What I find fascinating is why people pay good money for colonic irrigation.

Graham. It's not very nice is it? I don't blame you. It's a wonder you didn't throw in a toffee crisp, bounty bar and snickers bar as well.

Hi Katharine,
I was lucky that I was able to have a sedative, the people who pay for colonic irrigation
without a medical referral must be a little bit bonkers, there should be no need to undergo a colonic irrrigation if your diets ok. If you've have bowel problems your first stop should be the doctor.

Regards Graham
