Hi
felt I needed to have a mini rant before the clock strikes midnight tomorrow.
A few times, this year, I asked for the results of my fasting C-peptide which was done in March. Firstly the medics had difficulty locating the result and then finally consultant no. 2 (out of the 3 different ones I've seen so far this year) confirmed simply it was 'normal' in May.
I found out today it was 0.46 against a range of 0.36 - 1.16 (edited as I put the wrong figs).
So closer to the lower end of the range.
But because I was still in range , instead of doing the anti-GAD test they went off down the MODY route (because they couldn't get past that both my parents are T2 and this has a strong hereditory disposition even though they repeatedly told me I was an unusual case as I didn't fit the standard T2 criteria).
Months past and I became iller and iller until I finally asked for the anti-GAD last month, which came back positive (after learning about the experiences of the lovely LADA / Type 1.5 types here).
Now out of curiousity more than anything I'm trying get a hold of my anti-GAD test result (I like numbers) and the DN at the hospital couldn't locate it
Rant now finished.
A Happy Hogmanay to everyone here. Thank you so much for your continued support and guidance.
