Fasting Readings

Good Morning I have very recently got amachine to test my BS the last three fasting readings have been 7.3 this morning I got 8.3 I had nothing to eat or drink afterr 7.45pm and am at a bit of a loss ,my readings 2 hrs after dinner last night were 6.7 is this anormal and occasional event or amI doing something wrong.???
 
Hi Emmerdale,

you are probably experiencing the Dawn Phenomenon . It's a process whereby your liver deactivates some of your circulating insulin as you wake to give you a bit of a boost at the start of the day. Your levels will rise even though you've eaten nothing. It doesn't always happen or happen to all of us, but it does happen.
For me it's happened less as my numbers have come down, but I still do get it.
