Hiya. I'm looking for some easy low-carb snacks (both savory and sweet). I did low-carb many years ago, but I honestly can't remember what I ate on a regular basis. I'd prefer whole foods (rather than Atkins-type treats).

Anyone want to share their favorites, either snacks ideas or mini-meals? Thank you! :)

hi,

nuts are terrific
boiled eggs kept in the fridge
chunks of cheese (i wrap some in foil and take them when we go out in the car to avoid petrol station food moments)
85% dark chocolate
sugar free jelly pots
pork scratchings
chicken legs either cold or i buy them from the supermarket hot food counter too
beef jerky
celery dipped in cream cheese
plain ole blackberries (i love em)

Chicken stir fry with oyster and spring onion sauce. Or for speed wrap a slice of ham round a stick of celery. Corned beef and fried egg. Original recipe KFC.

check out the chocolate paradise thread, ive always got some rocky road or almost bounty bars in the fridge. Also make a packet of sugar free jelly up with just half pint water, add a packet of gelatine then pour into ice cube moulds, set and hey presto you've got sweets.

With the jelly sweets I find silicone moulds best to get them out of, also best left in the fridge overnight before you attempt to pop them out, then store in a tub in the fridge for as long as it takes for you to eat them.

Filling in forms! ;)
Almonds, walnuts, high cocoa chocolate ( sometimes I melt the chocolate and dip the nuts in it). Tuna mixed with chopped olives and mayo, wrapped in crisp lettuce. In fact anything wrapped in lettuce.......except jelly!! ;)

Can I just clarify how to make these sweets? A packet of sugar free jelly - is that sugar free gelatin? So I make a packet with half a pint of water. Then add another packet of gelatine to it before pouring into ice cube molds? Sounds like this would be really good.

Thank you all for your ideas! They all sound fantastic. I didn't think I'd ever be able to eat chocolate again.

I'm getting more sophisticated in my choice of chocolate. Am up to 85% now, lol. Tried Lindt 98% but it bares little resemblance to chocolate so will stick where I am...... Stifling the urge to eat a bar of good old Dairy Milk.
Fall gal, sorry for digressing :bag:

The hartleys sugarfree powder packets, theres 2 attached, use one of those. But only use half pint of water and I add a dr otker powdered gelatin packet, these now come in packs of 3.

I will look for these brands, thank you. To me, jelly is jam, jello is gelatin - so I was confused. :)
